Issues with Previous Versions
Note-ED Version 3.10 and earlier with Microsoft Word 2013
Microsoft has modified Word's automation behaviour, which is used by Note-ED for spell-checking and to save documents in Word format.
After saving a document, spell-checking stops working, it goes through each potentially mis-spelt word but error messages are displayed and the word cannot be corrected.
There's no ideal workaround - you could avoid saving the document until you are sure that you don't need to spell-check, but this runs the risk of making significant losses if the computer crashes.
It is safer to avoid trying to check spellings after the document has been saved..
Uninstall your version of Note-ED and download and install the latest version of Note-ED.
Note-ED Version 2.10 and earlier with Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2
Microsoft released this service pack in June 2009 and it can be installed automatically if you have enabled automatic Windows updates. Microsoft's modification to Word, which is used for spell-checking and to save documents in Word format, causes a problem with Note-ED.
On saving a document, Word opens and a Save As dialog is displayed asking if you want to save in .docx format.
If you are in full-screen mode, Note-ED appears to freeze, switch to Word, by pressing Alt+Tab.
Click on OK to save the document. If the form appears again, select cancel. Do not close Word. Carry on using Note-Ed normally.
Uninstall your version of Note-ED and download and install the latest version of Note-ED. This version also supports the latest Word 2007 format (.docx) as well as the traditional Word format (.doc).
